We hope that both the animal and the owner enjoy the hydrotherapy experience in a relaxed and friendly environment. We aim to provide an individual treatment plan to suit the animal's requirements, easing them into a comfortable regime that gains confidence and reduces anxiety. We encourage owners to take part in the sessions; therefore it is advised that waterproof clothing is worn.
We recommend that animals are walked to allow defecation/urination and are not fed 3 hours prior to the session. In certain circumstances we may have to charge the owner if their animal fouls in the pool as this may result in cancelling subsequent swims that day. We understand that this is inevitable with certain conditions such as spinal/nerve damage and therefore each case will be considered before charging.
If for any reason the animal is unable to swim then please give 24 hours notice where possible. A fee will be charged if no notification is given. We will not swim a dog if it is suffering from any infection, has vomiting/diarrhoea or if a veterinarian has advised that the animal should not attend a session. Each animal will receive a short head to tail health check by the hydrotherapist at the beginning of each session.
Unfortunately, due to busy schedules, late arrivals may not be seen and the session rescheduled.
In accordance with CHA regulations and health and safety instructions, every animal under our care will wear a buoyancy aid/harness. In emergency situations, this will allow the handler to pull the animal out of the water without endangering themselves or putting the animal at risk.
Showering is necessary before and after each swim to remove debris and water chemicals from the animal's coat. Unfortunately we do not offer shampooing services but drying facilities are available.
