Facilities
Modular Jet Pool
- The pool features 2 powerful anti swim jets that can be adjusted to provide the dog with a flow of water against which to swim.
- The jet pressure can be varied from a gentle current for early rehabilitative swims to a white water rapid for more strenuous levels of exercise.
- The pool is fitted with a non slip ramp to allow easy access. An overhead hoist is available to lower dogs into the pool if they are unable to use the ramp.
- The water is temperature controlled (27-30˚C degrees).
- The pool has a built in water management system of pumps and high rate sand filters. The water quality is manually measured 3 times daily to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and low levels of chlorine. The chlorine levels are kept to a minimum by the use of the in built ozonater which reduces the levels of bacteria. The surface skimmer automatically removes the floating hairs.

Water Walker Treadmill
- This is a treadmill enclosed in a stainless steel tank. Dogs access this by walking in on a non slip ramp.
- The treadmill speed can be adjusted to varying speeds from slow to up to 8mph. Powerful pumps then transfer the desired amount of water onto the treadmill. The depth of water can be varied depending on the fitness of the dog and on the treatment being provided.
- For dogs in early stages of recovery from surgery or suffering from arthritis, the water levels will normally be high. This provides buoyancy to support the dog’s weight while they exercise. By gradually decreasing the water level the dog will take on more weight bearing exercise as they reach their original fitness levels.
- It is possible to add buoyancy aids to individual limbs. This increases the dog’s range of motion, joint and muscle strength even further.
- The water walker can be used to improve fitness and condition of healthy dogs. A variety of exercise programmes can be created.
- Standards of water hygiene are very high. The water is heated and filtered and low doses of chlorine added. The water quality is manually monitored 3 times a day.

Hot Spa
- This is a passive form of hydrotherapy. This provides elderly and or severely arthritic dogs with improved mobility and eases muscle strains and sprains of injured dogs.
- The spa can accommodate all sizes of dog and water temperature can be adjusted. The hot moving water increases blood flow to muscles and other affected areas which increases flexibility decreases the pain of muscle spasm and stiff aching joints.
- Time spent in the hot spa for dogs recovering from surgery will help relax muscles and warm joints before undergoing more strenuous hydrotherapy treatments.
- The spa is fully sanitised and monitored for water quality 3 times a day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overhead Hoist System
- This allows dogs to be lifted and moved to the different areas of the hydrotherapy clinic. It is useful for dogs who are unable to use the entry ramp to the pool.
- Dogs are fitted with a sling and moved quietly and safely.
- Dogs can remain in the slings during a swim if needed.

Showering and drying facilities
- We shower the dogs before and after each session and dry them thoroughly. We use a blaster to dry them.
- This blows all the water off the coat and ensures they are dry before they leave.
- This prevents them getting cold on the journey home.
